Designer, retailer plan Dredgers Union store on East Fourth Street in downtown Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- In a city built around the Cuyahoga River, the word "dredging" is synonymous with hauling up muck and opening the waterways to maritime traffic.

But to Danielle DeBoe, dredging means clearing a path for retail in downtown Cleveland. Sean Bilovecky sees it as digging back to a tradition of designing, making and selling things close to home.

Kalahari Resort in Sandusky plans $22 million convention center expansion - Cleveland Business News - Northeast Ohio and Cleveland - Crain's Cleveland Business

Kalahari said the 120,000-square-foot addition will bring its convention center total square footage to 215,000. It will include a 38,000-square-foot grand ballroom/expo center, a 12,000-square-foot junior ballroom, 14 meeting rooms, a 4,000-square-foot themed outdoor plaza connected to an indoor ballroom and 30,000 square feet of pre-function space.
Kalahari Resort said the expansion will increase its meeting capacity to 5,200 attendees from 2,200.
