Cleveland Clinic spinoff raises $4 million from West Coast investors - Cleveland Business News - Northeast Ohio and Cleveland - Crain's Cleveland Business
Clear Catheter Systems Inc. of Bend, Ore., in 2008 received a $250,000 grant from the state-funded Global Cardiovascular Innovation Center on the condition that it expand in Ohio.
Clear Catheter CEO Ed Boyle declined to say how many employees the company has in Northeast Ohio, but noted in an email that local people, working on a contract basis, have helped guide the company's early development and the development and testing of its product. The device is designed to prevent blood clots from forming in surgical drainage tubes.
