regatta revival: rowing advocates say sport is poised for greatness There's nothing straightforward about rowing through the Flats on the Cuyahoga River. Just ask Caitlin Bowerman, president of Case Western Reserve Crew Club, which started its spring training on the river earlier this month.

GETTING BIGGER: Semco Carbon has moved into a new 40,000-square-foot facility in Lorain, more than doubling its space from its previous location. The firm, founded in 1971, provides custom graphite machining services to a variety of markets, including solar, aerospace, glass, casting/forging and heat treating. The company, located in Lorain for the past 20 years, currently employs about 25, and there are plans to hire additional machinists.

Two Northeast Ohio agencies awarded $53M in federal New Markets Tax Credits - Cleveland Business News - Northeast Ohio and Cleveland - Crain's Cleveland Business
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat from Avon, said the U.S. Treasury Department has awarded a total of $53 million in New Markets Tax Credit allocations to two Northeast Ohio agencies authorized to disburse the valuable federal tax credits.
Mr. Brown said the Cleveland New Markets Investment Fund received $35 million in tax credits and the Northeast Ohio Development Fund in Cleveland received $18 million.
